Biker blog 12 Vacation
8-28 -98 104 mi. Lowell Id. 2 bikes one trailer.
I packed up the saddle bags on my bike at noon dh got home by 4:00, so we loaded up the sleeping bags on the passenger seat of each bike. It was a hot 96* in Lewiston, Id. We couldn’t get out of town fast enough! We had the bikes loaded by 4:35 a record time for us!
We stopped in Orofino, Id. For a milk shake; but the restaurant had changed hands and was not a smoke shop so se settled for a sunny delight juice drink.
It started to cool off, but Kamiah was in the sun and it warmed up again, then when we hit the trees again we started seeing deer coming out of the hills for a cool during in the mountain stream, and to graze in the lush green water. WE had a nice wonderful dinner, then we unloaded the bikes and settled in our room for the night. It’s nice we have sheets tonight and a shower! (Our shower is broke at home so this is a real treat!)
A good ride today no problems, the gas station is closed so we have will fuel up in the morning after breakfast. I brought a flash light, and night light, and a blow drier first time I’ve ever brought a blow dryer no tenting this time , a real luxury to have this on a motor cycle trip.
One of my favorite things is when we sit outside under the stars in the evenings like we did tonight. We stopped at a rest area on the way up outside of Kamiah – Kooskia saw some people swimming, the fish were jumping in the river, and in the orchard there were several deer milling around grazing. Lewis-Clark resort has a pool right off hwy. 12
