Biker blog 14 Vacation Dillon, Mt.
8-30-98 177 mi. Dillon Mt. two bikes
Up early to see the sunrise packed up early and got a good start I ran out of fuel and had to switch it over to the reserve tank on the way to fuel up 11 nervous miles for me. We drove on Reserve Street and had good luck with traffic since it was so early and no construction on Sunday.
We had breakfast at Lolo, Mt. is was good food a truck stop, we stopped in Darby to do some shopping and found some post cards and a sliver bracelet I really liked got those, found an antique spinning wheel, and trunk, that had me drooling but could not figure out how to get them home. I’ve had my eye out for one for a while.
I saw the mill dh hauled out of for three weeks this spring, chips, sawdust shavings, and hot fuel, at Darby. There were oodles of log home manufactures there and at Hamilton too. That was neat, my virago drives wonderful up over the pass to last trial, we saw a family of wild mountain sheep and a tourist not even off the road with her video cameras was taking pictures. I saw a moose standing in the shade. Dh saw a beaver. After we come off the lost trail pass we fueled up in Wisdom, Mt. it was beautiful weather and nice running for the bikes. In Mt. I have to switch to high octane fuel to get my bike to run well, I learned this in previous trips.
We saw cattle, sheep and gobs of hay stacks and how they make them from a sign at a pull out one of those historical attractions that fascinated dh who’s family was farmers.
When we got into town we had to fuel up and went to the local dairy queen and was too full to sit down in there so I drove a block to campus and we ate under a shade tree on a picnic table by a creek ~ irrigation canal actually while we discussed our trip we saw a wild canary in the tree.
After we left there were drove around campus and in on older part of wont with Victorian homes it was neat!
Two guys I’d seen at Lolo drive by on Harley by in Dillon, Mt. and then grabbed our spot in the shade. I do know how to pick great spots!
