Biker blog 13 8-29-89 Vacation Missoula, Mt.
Great traveling weather! Bikes are running awesome! Construction on the way here we will leave a different away out of this KOA camp ground.
http://koakampgrounds.com/where/mt/26115/ We got here by 12:00 noon our time we had a good ride up . It was cool perfect riding weather. On highway 12 it’s easy to see how it got that name. Clear water in the Clearwater river: the rivers and streams running over the rocks were too. Last night it was really soothing to hear the water when we stopped. It feels good to relax and unwind.
There were lots of birds especially blue jays on the way up. Tree covered mountain views were awesome. Lolo pass is great and in the past we have been to the Lolo hot springs and stayed a Lolo camp ground.
We Unloaded our bikes pronto and got the bed made out with sleeping bags. This KOA is one of our favorites, has a pool hot tub, mini golf, bikes to rent, a petting zoo, and shopping mall just down the road a bit. Went to the books store Walden books I think it was, and the peer one import, I wanted the whole store but it would not fit in the motor cycle trailer.
We have no pillows, or bedding we have to bring our own for the KOA cabins, we have our sleeping bags, we will look for inflatable pillows or use towels.
It’s warming right up as I sit at this small picnic table that goes with the cabin we rented for the night I sit here and write in my motor cycle journal. We have been to the petting zoo, I took some hay pellets the sell here. They had peacocks, a mama with babies, llamas, donkey pigmy goats, duck, geese, at the zoo. It was fun a surprise to find that and we haven’t’ done that on vacation before here, enjoyed the walk too.
We went to an out door mountaineer’s festival like our local festival at home they had booths and different artisans there, pottery, African authentic clothes and masks, garden do dads to put up, all kinds of trinkets and neat stuff, no room to haul it home but it was such fun shopping and gathering inspiration. They had a carousel with hand
carved horses on it was watched that for a while it was fun, we had a snack at the trolley car converted in to an espresso shop.

I got a tee shirt in the gift shop and had our KOA card so I got an additional 10% no tax in Montana love that! That was great I’ll wear it on my birthday. (It’s labor day weekend.)
Dh watched the movie they had here and I did up the laundry in KOA have laundry facilities that’s another reason we like them. I had a neat conversation with a gal on the construction crew that drives steam roller we talked about driving rigs and motor cycles.
After that Dh & I soaked in the hot tub and went for a swim in the pool after that we went to the ice cream social and had the huckleberry ice-cream a local favorite here it was wonderful.
