Biker blog 6 Ranch Ride

Biker blog 6 July 98 Wed. 7-22-05
Around town
Today I did some thing new I put air in my own tire in my motor cycle I can’t believe it ahs taken me thing long to do this front and rear tires take 40 lbs of pressure on this bike. I rode out to my favorite spot across the river, it was fun remembering when dh & I “blew the carbon out” on Sat. in the same spot and after that I went to the $1 store. And I was exited to get some lotion for our next trip and some blank journals and computer paper fig newton type cookies and cracker. It just barely fit into my saddle bags! It was a fun trip . What I love is how each trip is different, each day is different and special. The surprise and excitement are what makes it awesome for me!

7-25-98 Trip to the ranch

Yesterday I took my bike over and got it fueled up for the weekend. Got some bananas and hauled them back in my saddle bags. Stopped at a yard sale and found a set of rice bowls and a vase of pottery from a potters wheel, that had a local florist’s shop sticker on it. Got hem hauled them home in my saddles bags that was fun! My finds go with my colors and got here all in good shape! The bananas did too. I got my bike cleaned up for my weekend trips or excursions. Today we got up early and went up to the ranch it was a wonderful drive. We took both motor cycles. We went up a grade. Saw a fire, in motor of a “duley” truck with dual tires one ton, the horses were fine. we had to stop the flagger flagged us on and an ambulance was coming someone messed up we were directed in to the other land and the ambulance was coming the should have had us wait a few more minutes. We saw three people sitting on the wheel fender of a horse trailer. They were resting there were six horses tire her and there calmly munching grass like nothing else in the world was going on.

We always enjoy the drive up there. The mountains, the tress the green meadows, the wild flowers, and sweet peas that are blooming along side of the road. So relaxing and refreshing for us. We felt renewed! It was perfect weather for doing that in the morning anyway.

On the way up we stopped and got some photos of buffalo a guy is raising they were by the fence, so we could get a good shot. They were right next to the road. We looked at the ranch and had a tour of it. And kind of said farewell his uncle sold his part, and moved to New Mexico.

We got a tour of the place and visited with dh’s uncle too. We had a great time telling stories we all laughed it was great! I took deli chicken and it worked great, we had it with peas corn and ice cream there. That worked well remember to do that again. Maybe with baked chicken next time.
The creek was almost dry. More of the road paved that was good to know.
We headed back home in the afternoon and stopped twice one for gas the other for juice. It was hot and we needed shade and a break. It was hotter and hotter as we came off the grade into the Lewis and Clark valley. Parched hot sun burnt and tired we stooped at one of our favorite burger joints for supper on the way home. That was great we were famished!

On the way home I hit a reverse pot hole, (bump) made my bike go a tad bit air borne‘ really jarred it good. I remembered thinking I hope everything stays in tact and attached.

Before I got home, just past the Washington state line my speedometer cable busted. So I need to order another one of those We have had to install on before but I think its was for my other bike 750 Yamaha Virago. Any way I’m glad it waited until we were almost home! We stopped for fuel, it was o hot even in the shade the sweat just rolled off us. It was 103* that afternoon! We made it home safe and sound. And that’s the best thing!
