Motor cycle meeting GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc.)
We went to a motor cycle meeting this morning . I drove my bike dh was my passenger. (He did not want to get his bike dirty.) It had rained and the roads were pretty wet. My bike was the only one there! They discussed a new CD (Chapter director); two rally ideas for next year, some ride possibilities, fun meeting things Christmas party, food baskets for the needy, today’s ride, teddy bear run for kids in crisis, old meeting news and notes, new meetings, dinner rides, picnic rides, brown bag lunch ride, drawings, prizes, a 50/50 drawing, this was a breakfast meeting. And a small turn out for attendance.

Publicity was also discussed a conflict with the the rally in
Vancouver and hot august nights was brought up too. I showed them this motor cycle journal I’m Typing from, and the dish cloths I do. I heard about a woman motor cycler doing a book. Hear me roar book, I think was the title. That came in an e-mail of one of the members not in attendance.

It was cold on the way home we drove by the river. I was driving again and decided to head out the other way and come home the long way home, there was road kill a skunk that part was not fun. It was a good other than that. The road had dried off in places on the main road. We discussed double clutching on my bike on the way home. I do that sometimes but not every time. He said I was a good driver people said I was nuts to get my bike to on a day like this He said I got and A for a grade on my driving. =D

Sun. 10-11-98 Last AVA (American Voyagers Assoc.) Meeting

After breakfast that I cooked we went to the AVA meeting GSV Gem State Voyaged. They are folding the club it was struggling to survive so they just let it die. Decided to do a friendship roster and still ride and do campouts and picnics if we want next year. Do on last Christmas parts on Tues. we won’t be able to do that. And donate what’s left in the treasurey to the d.a.r.e. program. It was hard, and sad but time to let go and move on. A good way to get closure on this for us.
Buck & I rode both of our bikes up there.

Then we rode on out to the Y in the rode towards lower Granite dam. It was nice helped to get some fresh air and to shake off the gloom of that meeting. We have been in two clubs that have died now. We are still doing what we love riding.

Riding our bikes taking trips and having fun. We have learned clubs, groups and organizations can be a whole heck of a lot of work that is one thing we know. There is a "women on wheels" meeting next weekend. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it. They have a roving chapter. I went to one of their meetings when it was here. They were camped out at the camp ground. There are a positive bunch of gals. I really liked that about them. It’s good to see them here!

10-12-98 Ride 40 miles.
I drove up on top past the farm of some people I know on Dh’s virago to charge up the battery. It was 60* in the shade so a good day to do that
awesome weather for October! I was so good to see the trees on the horizon and then close up as I got to the turn around the point near the forest.

The fields were plowed, the winter wheat had sprouted and everything was green. Some fields were blackened form stubble burns.
I saw two ravens soaring in the air, a hawk or an eagle, smelled something dead beside the road. When I drive on my bike, or his, it always helps me to come back with a better perspective on life. If I have tough emotional issued I’m dealing with I can think them through as I drive. It helps me to put thing back into perspective as I am in nature’s awesome surroundings.

It helps me to get the fresh air into my lungs too and that in my blood stream helps also. I can blow out the toxins and a bad attitude to if I need too. =D My kind of therapy!
