Biker blog 27
Sun. 10-4-98 two bikes
We rode both of the bikes on the other side of the river to charge up the batteries in them. We rode to the fishing pond with cat tails were there is a fork in the road and turned about and came back. We wore our leather it was cool enough to need it.
I fueled up the bike on the way back, got some movies to watch and I rode dh’s bike back home form there it was fun really different we both enjoyed that. It was good to get out on them. It feels like fall now though. Time to think about their winter wax jobs and storing the batteries too.
Mon. 10-5-98 One bike solo ride
I took dhs’ virago out to the same place we went yesterday to charge up the battery in it. It was really had to get it started ~ almost idn’t. It had sat too long, and it’s getting cold out too. It was warmer today and awesome weather! Lovely really made my spirit soar. =D
I saw a guy on the nomad I wanted heading out on my way back, in to town tow other were also enjoying this nice weather today on their motor cycles!
10-06-98 28 mi.
I rode my bike out past the park to Wilson banner ranch and turned around took some books back to the collage and returned them to the library there. Some students were outside on recognized me know my kids!
I had my chaps on and a bug on my face from the ride. =D I paid a bill too. It was a good ride. Nice and warm the sun was out it was wonderful! My neighbor who had to Harley’s a shovel head and a new heritage and I were chatting over the fence. He told me I earned a lot of respect when I was out on my motor cycle so soon after I got it. That was a moment to savor for me, and to embrace!
Understanding that others admire and respect me and what I have done and what I am doing a gal at the fuel pump was commenting about wishing she had the nerve to ride and she said I looks good on my bike!
There were a couple of truck drivers when I fueled up and I hared one says there’s what gene we need a bile like that and he pointed to mine.
I know others have envied my adventures, the freedom and the excitement. I’m seeing that as a positive thing now as respect. Strange now this realization is coming a little after the fact I’ve been riding six years.
I remember a conversation with another gal that drives her own bike too. She went on vacation with her daughter for a week on her bike last summer. They were gone ten days.
The gals that don’t drive their own bike are unaware of some things, like when I was following another bike I noticed him double shifting, (down shifting), I knew he would be slowing down before he applied the breaks.
I’ve had some awesome discussions with other bikers too. It’s an awesome camaraderie we have among us.
28,000 miles I went to the other library this afternoon and it ws 71* at 5:00 so much have been 80*, I was in my shirt sleeves, rode on up on top of the prairie to get the zeros to roll over. What a beautiful day and exhilarating feeling! WOW! How awesome is this or what!
