Change of plans decided not to clean the seeds out of the gutters today. Rain in the forecast this afternoon.
The mountains were calling so I texted my daughter about an idea that I had on my mind, to go to the favorite camp ground that I could not remember the name of. Yes she was interested. I had her help me check the oil in the rig. It needed to be ran has been hard starting.
I called our son to let him know and that I would check back in with him when we got back home. He shared about an adventure of getting stuck and unstuck at work.
Then I rounded up stuff in the lunch box ice cooler coats water and the dog. Buckets and food for in case of emergency.
We headed out after fueling up and got some deli food. I was glad to be out of town for a bit and this helped me to clear cobwebs out of my brain. We found the camp ground and got some pics. so glad my daughter remembered that.
It was good to tramp around in the woods, find a free camp sight and
show her the way. We had a good talk and we timed how far it was from our house only one hour. Only a quarter of a tank of fuel. But glad that it was in our right 4 x 4 not sure going in a two wheel drive would have been okay. There was one spot that was the roughest that had been washed out and a culvert had been put in.
There were three dirt pads for camping on one fire ring, a creek, and a pond three picnic tables. I thing we will try to caravan with those that have trucks or 4 x 4 's. My sack lunch will work for this, and water a cooler and lawn chair. There is an out door toilet, and we can be socially distant. It would be a great place to plant a tree or three that I have for this.
We did some hiking on the trails I took the dog she was on a long leash that was great found three mushrooms. I was tickled to be able to find this and that I remember the roads on the way. It was remote enough and primitive google was not so much help. LOL!
It is time to get the oil changed in the rig and have the battery checked out it is a bit of a hard start I need to get the windshield wipers replaced. The rig needs a bath too.
Proud to hear of ways the grand kids have been staying on track with their sports training even though school is not in session. They are working and keeping in touch. I checked back in with my son when we got back.
Looking forward to other planned adventures of favorite places. We had some rain today just enough to settle the dust on the dirt road it was paved about half of the way there. The lines in the two lane were only part of the way and then the road narrowed part of the way. We saw some wild life. The fields were green with the half grown wheat in the fields. So refreshing for us.
So my daughter liked the suggestion of lighting a candle in honor of those that passed on her deck, there was a candle that our son gave me and was in the spare room that used to be hubby's I gave it to my daughter. She lite that one today she said.
I decided on the planting of the trees as something I wanted to do. Everyone finds their own way. Showing the family one of our favorite camping spots is another that helps too. This just started as an idea in my head and sort of developed glad I am able to follow through with it.
