The first day of summer.
This year the first day of summer dawned bright, a full moon list night was glorious, our son commented that it was a nice evening and said “it feels like camping weather”. The temps. are up 97* yesterday 100* today. I got up early and dressed at 5:45 I stumbled outside, blinking my eyes to see clearly in the cool 60* temps. of the morning. The morning shade was long and a relief for my sunburn from fishing and boating last weekend. I’m collecting sun burn remedies, to use. I walked with a friend for a half of a block before she net her other friend and exercise buddy. Before I started my next section to walk I came back for a hat. I saw a baby rob in, and enjoyed my prayer time is was good today. I had a powerful dream last night with spiritual overtones and I was pondering what that was about as I walked today.
I did my full 2.5 mi. walk before dear son left and my half day of granny duty started. The sky is clear and blue and glorious today. I’m still in rehydration mode after the weekend and I’m excited about freezing water in plastic soda bottles using dear hubby’s “recipe” with by filling them ¼ full, and lay them down on an angle in the freezer for a nice cool drink when I come back from my walk and through out my day. Such a nice refreshing treat on a hot summer’s day.
Tonight a storm is blowing through our area. Power lines are down and power outages are reported with wind hail raind and dust blowing downed trees and branches.
Lawns are dry and have turned brown from a lack of water. I used to set the before I left of my walks in the mornings last year. I’m adjusting to my summer schedule flip flopping my walk and quiet time slots. Do what works! =DLast weekend at the book store I checked on DVDs I wanted to price check for a Christmas gift but they did not have it and it was not in their system, I’ll have to check a different source. I did find an art book with a section pc art so I’ve been reading through that for some tips and ideas that I needed.
A couple of years ago in August our son built a play house for his girls in our back yard it started out as a child hood dream I had. It was fun for the girls to helped in the building process picking up block helping with the clean up , in put on the loft, how tall to make it. They helped me to draw designs on the walls. I’ve painted tea pots on the walls and traced around animal shapes too.
Now we have it fully furnished with child sized table chairs, a stool, bench cupboards cabinets, and shelves for hours of child hoof games and fun. We have a split door and a shelf they play drive through espresso stand. With empty containers and a play coffee pot that makes the cutest sounds!
