My Weekend

The dusk settling outside and have the day's progress to remember. We got a lot done chores mostly I’ve been working on getting the yard shapes up. Hubby got the rest of gutters that our son started and did half of them earlier in the month. I got the stuff I’ve pruned and in piles in the front yard.

The apricots are green and after they are done we will need to prune that tree up or take it out, I’d like to replace the peach tree we lost a few years back. And the current bush needs to come out I’ll put in some more roses in it’s place. I have the gardening progress well under way now. We have the roses growing and will put some more in later. We had a garden wedding and it was great but a few days before the wedding a big storm blew in and we had to clean up the limbs out of the yard before the wedding that definitely was not on our list. There were 104 people at the wedding the weather was perfect.

I remembered that when I was taking a breather sitting on the swing earlier this afternoon.

I am going to have a gift of a block of time tomorrow this is a delicious thought for me I am thinking of the delightful things I can do and what I’ve been wanting to do. I need to get a get back pack loaded with art supplies sketch book and journal. I can do some reading and or sewing.

I had the book with me this weekend when we went to the place to get the oil change, I was actually bummed when they were done in about what seemed like six minutes, six guys on one rig got it through in double time. Then at the tire store while we were getting new tires on the car I got caught up in this show and did not get any reading done there the show was about how they have bone yards of old ships and planes that was fascinating to see how they dismantle them and re use them to make more.

In the afternoon we went to the farmers market just as they were dismantling all the booths and were tearing it down, oh well at least we know the hours. We will try it again next weekend. They had some herbs there not the ones I wanted. I think I need a dozen or two lavender plants and I’m going to put them in with some roses. I have a neighbor friend that is going to take some out. So I can have those they are lavender floribundas these will be more fun than ever green bushes!

I was delighted to sit on some drift wood while we were fishing this weekend and smell chamomile in bloom and watch fish jump in the cat tails, and listen to the sound of running water going in to a pond. It was very peaceful and I returned very relaxed. I need to go back and sketch that place. The fishing was not very good.

We watched the film on DVD the Aviator Matt Damon did a wonderful job with that part.

Dear son is going to put up some pictures of boats on the web site I dubbed it the "friends page". =D

I have some fun things to do with the grand kids and it will be hard to choose, their aunt is going to take them tomorrow. I’m like the kids I don’t know which project to choose of mine that I want to do.

I have a couple of ideas to try too. Making a bank for coins and weaving carding some wool and working in the yard are on my fun list. I was out watering tonight and the part I was working on today looks nice I’m glad I was able to get the time and effort in to that. I got the back watered tonight after it cooled off too. So that will make it even better cooler and freeing up some more time for me tomorrow.

We are planning the mowing at the farm next weekend and we were both disappointed that we did not make it up last weekend but have some minor changes we realize we need to do. This used to be a cattle ranch, dear son is going to see if he can’t get the tractor fixed so they can run it. He is a man with a mission and discovered there is a VCR & power at the farm thinks the girls will watch that. But they like to play out side with sticks, dirt and bugs! LOL!
