I watched “Into the West” the first episode. It was very stirring,
I remembered when we were in Canada on a tour with a motor cycle group and went to the Buffalo jump museum, it was one of the high lights of our 2,300 mi. week long trip to the Edmonton mall and back. I recognized parts of this movie of scenes in a book I’d read or similar scenes in other movies.
Our son did not get the boat welding job he is going back to work on the wheat farm or ranch with a guy he went to school with. He worked there last summer too.
Friday was challenging in part of it at least I showed and listed some property we have a lot I bought at a land auction in the 80’s we were going to build a new house on it and never got around to it. So it was time to declutter it. Dear hubby called on the cell phone to see if I could do that today. It was not exactly on my list for my free day Friday stuff but I was off track with my stuff any way. I did get it done by the end of the day between errands and chores two realtors in and out with no warning oh brother the first one wanted to see the basement, she understood when I said "grand kids live here". I opened the door to the pantry and closed it so fast she may are may not have gotten a peak and I did not open any of the closets. And when I opened the door to the office I said "this is the stash and dash room"! The bright spot in my day was on my drive by the lot in the morning I saw a deer just a few houses down from it that was a treat.
My friend told me that after I asked them if they were interested in selling their older Chevy with a short narrow box pick up truck they were not using. I’d seen ones like these in car shows and dh (dear hubby) told his friend that restores and shows classic cars a 57 chev. & 70 Corvette. I told my son-in-law that is a Chevy mechanic, she said someone came up and offered them more for it than they were going to ask for it and was amazed that it had happened.
Then she mentioned that they had a boat in the garage and nothing to pull it with I said you live on a street with a lot of traffic you could put it on the front lawn for sale. (I have a small boat in my front yard too.) She seemed excited about this prospect. They are getting ready to retire and liquidating things so they can go on the mission field.
It's free fishing day in Idaho and Washington I'm taking my pole to the BBQ it's by the Clearwater River. A family BBQ to met more future inlaws. I have a picnic basket partly loaded. I have decided I need a new reel for my old pole and a red pole with a reel for grand kids to use and an out of state fishing lisc. for the year for Idaho we live on the boarder. Then I can take grand kids to go fishing! I'm getting out my favorite fun ideas for the grand kids to do in the summer for fun and looking forward to it I've been chomping at the bit for school to get out so I can play with them and have fun at the fishing hole!
